Even as a 5 year old Kindergarten student, growing up in a small fishing community in rural Newfoundland, I knew when asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?", that my answer would always be  something that had me helping animals. 

I graduated from Academy Canada's Veterinary Assistant program in Corner Brook NL in 2014, after which, my husband whisked me away to Ontario to follow his military career. There, I worked in a small animal practice until the military decided it was time to give us an adventure on the Western side of the country. Once posted to Edmonton, I spent a year in Emergency Veterinary Medicine and this is where I really knew this profession was my calling. The rush, fulfillment and sense of purpose I got helping to nurse an animal back to health and sending them home to their owners solidified my love for this field. I found Park Vet and joined their team as their Lead Technician Assistant in 2023 and enrolled in the distance Veterinary Technician Program with Penn Foster College to further my education and be able to help animals no matter where the military takes us. 

Outside of work my life is still dedicated to animals. When my spare time is not occupied with studying, I spend it with my husband, our St. Bernard named Missy, and our rescue Cane Corso named Beau. You can find us doing anything from quiet game nights at home, to adventuring all the Rocky Mountains have to offer.
